Dr. Leonor Pinzón
Pediatric Dentistry

I am a pediatric dentist with hospital training.
I completed my specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the National Institute of Pediatrics and the National Autonomous University of Mexico, for 2 years, in Mexico City, studying a hospital residency. I completed a Master in Educational Research in two years. I am currently studying a Ph.D. in Senior Management in Health Establishments.
My professional practice is oriented to the dental care of infants, children, adolescents and people with special health needs, as well as prenatal dentistry for pregnant women.
I had the opportunity to work as a pediatric dentist at the Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón (CRIT) in Yucatan from 2008 to 2009. I have collaborated as an advisor in the association "Together for the hemophilia of Yucatán" in workshops and in dental care. I have been a professor at the Autonomous University of Yucatán since 2008, currently I teach undergraduate and graduate classes.
I am the author of national and international scientific publications.

Dr. Teresita Medina

I'm a pediatric dentist with specialty training following dental school and limit my practice to treating children only including those with special health needs. I did my masters degree in pediatric dentistry for 2 years at Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán .
My private practice oriented towards pediatric patients, dentistry for babies, dentistry for the pregnant woman, attention for the adolescent patient, dentofacial orthopedics and patients with special health care needs or systemic compromise.
Attention to patients can be given in-office, as well as procedures in the operating room under general anesthesia is the case demands it
My focus is mainly preventive, as my academic training in baby dentistry and attention to pregnant women has a focus on monitoring oral health during pregnancy and afterwards, working toward´s the child´s health and intercepting any problem the earliest possible. Whenever oral rehabilitation is needed, this is normally done in patients with multiple caries lesions and active infectious foci. My work also involves dentofacial treatments in children with malocclusion (bite-problems). Another aspect of my work also focuses on working with patients with disabilities or systemic compromise, from a preventive and rehabilative standpoint, with the objective of improving the patient´s quality of life.

I am currently a professor at the Autonomous University of Yucatan.
I have won first place in the research contest of the International Congress of the Mexican Association of Orthodontics.

My approach is primarily preventive, focuses on the control and maintenance of oral health, working for the health of the person and intercepting any problem as soon as possible, with the aim of improving their quality of life. The diagnosis and treatment of my patients is done in a comprehensive manner, considering all possible risk factors for their oral health.

My professional practice is oriented to the timely diagnosis of ankyloglossia or short lingual frenulum, through a functional diagnosis. I perform frenillectomy in necessary cases and accompany mothers in the breastfeeding process, promoting all its benefits.
